Health Promotion and Advocacy

Health Promotion and Advocacy

The Health Promotion and Advocacy Program works with communities, civil society and Government institutions and leaders to understand health problems, prevent disease, and promote better health and living conditions for people living in urban slums. IBH works with community and networks of partners to address health challenges of the underprivileged and vulnerable people of Uganda. This program promotes access to care and conditions necessary for good health, well-being and dignity.

IBH’s health programme, seeks to complement government efforts by empowering Community Health Promoters (CHPs) to focus on children and mothers to ensure that people from the most disadvantaged communities can access critical health care and live healthy and productive lives. These CHPs are all women, picked from communities to serve their own.
